Reliance Jio is all set to initiate its voice plus data services in five cities by the month of June. According to a report published in Live Mint newspaper, the company plans to expand its services in other cities throughout 2015.
Talking about the expansion of data and voice services in the five cities, Reliance Jio spokesperson stated that the company would introduce its 4G services in Nagpur, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Lucknow. He further added that more cities will be added to this list in a few months time.
The Reliance Industries Limited has been working hard to increase the efficacy of its wireless broadband services for the last five years. It had acquired Infotel Broadband in June 2010 with an objective to step into the wireless data field. The news about Reliance Jio's strategy to expand its services has been hitting the electronic and digital media for the last few months. It also announced that it would offer free Wi-Fi at Wankhede Stadium of Mumbai during IPL matches. In a series of announcements, Reliance Jio came up with its instant messaging application called Jio Chat, which is up against WhatsApp. Even though, Jio Chat doesn't dictate Reliance' efforts in the wireless data or voice calls, but it simply gives an indication that Reliance is striving hard to become the one stop solution for users when it comes to e-commerce, messaging, and voice.
