BSNL Ends Data Carry Forward Facility, unused data to be cancelled

BSNL-BBBSNL was offering carry forward facility for its STVs and data vouchers for long time. But it has now decided to stop this facility and has directed all circles to implement this change with immediate effect.

On BSNL network subscribers could use same voucher to carry forward STV benefit or data benefit before the end of validity. This was a huge relief for subscribers who are not able to use up full benefit before validity expires. Now any unused benefit will be canceled at the end of validity and cannot be carry forward.

Operators with data carry forward facility

TATA Docomo has recently announced to allow users to carry forward unused data for 2G+2G and 3G+3G recharges. Another operator which currently allow carry forward is Reliance communications, which offer carry forward for all data recharges and certain STVs on both GSM and CDMA service.

Carry forward facility are welcomed by subscribers, but operators are reluctant to offer this service as they are afraid of decline in revenues and misuse of this facility.

Please share your view on BSNL decision to stop carry forward facility.
