Just a week ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, LG has confirmed the global rollout of its curved Android smartphone, the G Flex 2. The phone was announced last month at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

LG has also specified that major carriers in the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany and the UK will be the first in line to offer the smartphone. The main markets in North and South America, Europe, and Asia will be kickstarting the sales in the weeks following the MWC, which will be ending on March 5.

Not many know, the G Flex 2 is already up for sale in South Korea (LG’s home country), where it was launched for KRW 800,000 (roughly Rs. 45,000) towards the end of last month. The phone is also available for pre-order in the United Kingdom, and is set to go on sale in Singapore from March 14. In the United States, it will be available via Sprint on March 13.

Juno Cho, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said, ”The G Flex2 shows the world that there’s still room for design innovation in today’s smartphones beyond just metal frames and larger displays. We think the G Flex2 is the perfect example of form and function coming together beautifully. It’s a smartphone that people simply won’t be able to take their eyes off of,” he said.

Announced at the CES 2015 last month, the G Flex 2 caused quite a stir for its stylish, curved design and optimized UX features. It sports a 5.5-inch full HD OLED display, which is touted to delivers a sharp viewing experience from every angle. The phone is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with 2GB DDR RAM and backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.
