From the past one year, we've seen HTC focussing more on mid-range and affordable smartphones due to dip in sales numbers. Now, a new report from DigiTimes claims that HTC plans to launch more entry-level 4G smartphones in the first quarter of 2015. According to the report, the company expects to ship twice the amount of products next year.
Jack Tong, President of HTC North Asia said to DigiTimes that HTC is also thinking to design and sell special variants of its smartphones, which will only be sold online, following the similar strategy to that of newer brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Yu.
In India, HTC has launched various 4G LTE compatible smartphones in India this year; the One M8, the One M8 Eye, the One E8 dual SIM, the Desire 820, the Desire 820Q, and the Desire Eye. Airtel and Aircel have already started rolling out 4G LTE networks in the country but the network reach is very low as of now.
