Asus has carved out its name for bringing smartphones and tablets to the masses at value-for-money prices. The Zenfone series of smartphones has been pretty popular and so have the FonePad and MemoPad series of tablets. The Zenfone 5 Lite (A502CG), which was launched globally, has now made its inroads to the Indian market at a price of Rs 8,999. Zenfone 5 Lite. As the name suggests, it is a stripped-down version of the regular Asus Zenfone 5 at a slightly lower price.

The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite features a 5-unch qHD display instead of an HD screen, which is used in the Zenfone 5. The company has also downgraded its screen protection from Gorilla Glass to Soda Lime glass. Instead of a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560, which is used in the Zenfone 5, Asus has equipped with Zenfone Lite with 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor. Even the RAM has been downgraded from 2GB to 1GB. Also, the front-facing camera has been downgraded from 2MP to a VGA sensor.
