FUP (fair usage policy) has been a boon to the Telcos and bane to the consumers from the day it was implemented. If we take into consideration the increase online time and the number of internet centric application we use has increased exponentially over the time. The websites are becoming more and more intuitive and along with this they are also becoming heavy thus gobbling up your data usage at a lightening pace.

BSNL has come up with internet packs to restore the original speed even after you cross the FUP by paying nominal charges per extra GB you consume. Mr. A.N. Rai this facility is introduced based on the consumers demand. Unlimited broadband users need to shell out Rs100 for 2GB, Rs 200 for 5GB, Rs 300 for 10GB and Rs 500 for 20GB high speed data quota for yor pending billing cycle.

The consumers will be treated to a pop up when the data quota will be on the verge of getting exhausted and the charges will be included in the next billing cycle. Airtel is doing something pretty similar for its 4G connection and it is called the Smartbyte. We would love to know if this consumer centric move from BSNL will benefit you in anyways?
