Exclusive: BSNL to withdraw BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) from service connections

BSNL has issued an internal note regarding the withdrawal of BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) from its service connections. It has come to light earlier that normal data services work just fine on BlackBerry devices even without the BIS (that's true for some other connections as well). As a result, BSNL has asked its circles to withdraw the BIS plans.

What it means to BSNL Blackberry Customers:

Now let us talk about what this means for the customers. Getting a regular data recharge will suffice you just fine and you can browse the internet, check your mail and go on about using the regular services but all the functionalities of BB OS 7 (and the ones before that) can't be accessed. BBM won't be available and the same would hold true for BlackBerry world as well.

Some applications such as Facebook which require access to BlackBerry servers might not be able to run properly either. But majority of the applications which simply require an internet plan to run will work just fine. You can get yourself a regular data recharge and continue using your BB device with ease.
