Micromax has just launched (not officially, but has gone on sale) a new budget smartphone in the country under the Canvas Juice series, the Canvas Juice A177 with a 3,000 mAh battery for Rs 8,490. Alongside it, Swipe Telecom has launched the Swipe Halo Fone for Rs 6,999 and it further closes the gap between the smartphones and tablets with its 6.5 inch inch screen. Its giant screen will be one of its talking points and it does well to be just 9mm thick despite the giant size. Let us take a look at their specifications:
Micromax Canvas Juice A177:
- It has a 5 inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixel
- A 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor is present under the hood coupled with a 1GB RAM
- It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
- It has an internal storage capacity of 4GB which is available for expansion by another 32GB
- The primary camera is a 5MP unit coupled with a LED flash and it is joined in by a VGA front camera

- 6.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels based on One-Glass Solution. Such a lower resolution for this big a screen size will surely result in pixelation becoming prominent
- Powering it is a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MTK6572 processor coupled with a 512 MB RAM
- It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
- Its internal storage capacity stands at 4GB and the same can be expanded by another 32GB via a microSD card slot
- It gets a 2MP camera at the back coupled with a flash and a VGA front camera
- It will come with dual SIM connectivity with one of them supporting 3G and one 2G
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS will add to the connectivity package
