It was pretty much on the cards. Amidst everybody’s anticipation, Samsung today unveiled its next generation of Galaxy Grand smartphone. The device has got a cut above features as compared to its predecessor. The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean based device has 5.25-inch HD display. There is no announcement about the price. However, it is certain that the smartphone will come out at higher price as compared to the previous generation. Expect a price of about Rs 20,000-22,000 when it gets launched in India which should be early next year.

Here are the key features of the phone-
Display-. 5.25-inch HD (1280×720 pixels), 720p TFT display with 16:9 aspect ratio. The screen eventhough not something out of the ordinary, is a big upgrade from its previous generation.
Dimensions and weight- 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm , 163 grams. Its big and weighs a bit on the higher side but the higher weight reassures a good build quality.
Processor, Chipset and RAM- 1.2GHz quad-core processor, unknown chipset and a 1.5GB of RAM. The processor is also a good upgrade over the last generation as well but we would have loved a 2GB RAM.
Memory– It comes with 8GB of internal memory and an expandable memory of up to 64GB via a microSD card.
Camera– It will come shod with an 8-megapixel rear camera with features like autofocus, LED Flash and 1080p video recording, and a 2-megapixel front camera for video chats and self shots.
Connectivity– It features Dual-SIM, 3G (HSPA?), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.0, and GPS/GLONASS for connectivity.
Sensors– It comes with a Proximity sensor, accelerometer and compass.
Battery– Giving it the juice is a 2,600mAh battery with up to 10 hours of video playback and 17 hours of calls. So the big screen has a good battery which will easily last it over a day.
