Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a state-run Indian telecom operator, and Viasat, a global leader in satellite communications (satcom) have announced that they are supporting the next phase of Indian Navy’s satcom upgrade program. Indian Defense Forces had signed an agreement with BSNL, wherein the Navy will utilise Viasat’s high-capacity Ka-band satellite systems alongside the existing L-band infrastructure. This multi-band connectivity will enable the Indian Navy to expand coverage, increase throughput and get improved reliability for mission critical operations.
