Vodafone Idea (Vi), the third-largest telecom operator, has three new data plans for customers in India priced at Rs 61, Rs 201 and Rs 251. What's cool about these plans is that they bundle insurance also. This insurance is for the handset of the users. All three plans will offer FUP (fair usage policy) 4G data to the customers. Thus, to recharge with them you need an active plan. These are only data vouchers, and they don't bundle service validity for the users. Let's take a look at these plans and their benefits.

Vodafone Idea Rs 201 Prepaid Plan
Vodafone Idea Rs 201 plan comes with 30 days of service validity and 10GB of 4G data. This plan offers Rs 25,000 worth of insurance in case of handset loss for 180 days. Vi has said that the registration has to completed within 48 hours once the SMS is received from the insurance partner to get the real time insured value of the handset. The telco said that the refund is only applicable in case the handset is not eligible for insurance as per ABHICL conditions.

Vodafone Idea Rs 251 Prepaid Plan
Vodafone Idea's Rs 251 prepaid data voucher also offers almost the same benefits as the Rs 201 plan. The Rs 251 plan comes with 30 days of service validity, and 10GB of 4G data as well. With this plan as well, users will get Rs 25,000 worth of insurance in case of handset loss. However, the insurance coverage will be for 365 days, a complete year rather than the 180 days coverage that's on the Rs 201 plan.
This is why the Rs 251 plan is more expensive. Vodafone Idea has made these data plans active and available for customers now. The plans may be available in select regions as of now. If it is not in your region, do let us know.
Vodafone Idea Rs 61 Prepaid Plan
The Rs 61 data voucher from Vodafone Idea comes with 15 days of service validity, and only 2GB of data. This plan will also give users insurance of Rs 25,000 on their handsets. The insurance cover will only be for 30 days with this plan. It is likely better for users to go with the Rs 251 plan if they want to go for insurance for their handsets as that brings them a cover of one year. With the Rs 61 plan, you would end up spending Rs 244 in just four months, and that would give you around four months of coverage only.
