Vice President and Managing Director at Xiaomi India, Mr. Manu Kumar Jain, has taken to Twitter to announce this news today by tweeting “Xiaomi shipped 10M+ units globally in the month of October”. He also mentioned in his tweet that this is the second consecutive month to have crossed the 10 million sales mark.

According to multiple reports, one of the primary reasons behind this record is the smartphone sales in the Indian market which is said to account for 30 percent of the total devices that were shipped to the country. Meanwhile, the festive sales by Amazon India and Flipkart in the last two months seem to have also contributed to this achievement.

Xiaomi India recently said that it sold more than four million smartphones during the festive season.

Earlier, Xiaomi’s most popular budget offering, the Redmi Note 4, had crossed the 5 million units mark within six months of launch and still remains Xiaomi’s best selling smartphone in the country.

To recall, the Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5-inch display with a Full-HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, along with 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor alongside an Adreno 506 GPU. The chipset is clubbed with 2G of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device also comes in a 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of internal storage and another 4GB variant with 64GB of internal memory.

The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and supports dual-SIM configuration. The device is backed by a 4,100mAh battery and features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Redmi Note 4 offers a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and dual-tone LED flash as well as a 5MP front-facing camera for capturing selfies and video calls. The Redmi Note 4 is priced at Rs. 10,999.
