Chinese brand, Xiaomi today announced a special variant of the Redmi Note 4 in India. Dubbed as the Redmi Note 4 Lake Blue edition, the smartphone will only be available with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The new edition commemorates the company’s latest project of ‘Wake the lake’ campaign. Besides the new colour, the rest of the specifications are similar to the already existing Redmi Note 4. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is currently the highest selling smartphone in India at the moment. The Note 4 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 2.5D curved glass on top.

Manu Jai, Vice President, Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India commented, “We are a company who believes in giving back to the community. Water bodies have been the source of water for ages for people of Bengaluru but over the past decade, these water bodies have been facing a serious threat. To show our concern for the cause we are taking up the maintenance of Kempabudhi Kere, to support BBMP in bringing it back to its initial days of glory as a project under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. To commemorate this cause, we are launching Redmi Note 4 Lake blue edition which would further contribute to this cause.”

The Xiaomi Redmi Note Lake Blue Edition is priced at Rs. 12,999 and will go on sale at 12 PM on September 4, on Mi.com, Flipkart, as well as Mi Home stores, Mi Preferred Partner stores and other offline partner stores.

This phone price suggests that upcoming phone Xiaomi A1 will be priced higher and more than 15K. So that it doesn’t cannibalize the sale of ealier xiaomi models
