Vodafone Idea Postpaid Business is Growing Steadily

Vodafone Idea's postpaid subscriber base stood at 28.8 million at the end of Q3 FY26. We don't know the numbers for Bharti Airtel yet, but we can assume that this is either close to being the most postpaid users number by any telco, or the second most comfortably.

Vi's postpaid subscriber base stood at 28.8 million at the end of Q3 FY26. We don't know the numbers for Bharti Airtel yet, but we can assume that this is either close to being the most postpaid users number by any telco, or the second most comfortably. Jio's postpaid mobile business isn't as strong.

The total data subscribers of the telco also grew in the time period, but not by a huge margin. It was almost non-existent growth rate here. The blended churn stood at 4.4%, a decimal point higher than the last quarter, and this is certainly not a good thing. However, the good thing is that Vi expanded the reach of its 4G and 5G networks during the quarter.

The 4G coverage population now stands at 85.5% of the country's population and this will only improve in the coming quarters. This is a good sign and one that can potentially bring back customers which were lost to the network. Vodafone Idea is still struggling to hold on to subscribers as the loss continues, and at the same rate. The telco needs to do something different now that it has already started investing in the networks. The story of why it is a company whose network, people must stay connected to has be put out by the telco. But that's a concern for the marketing team of Vi. For now, keep reading TelecomTalk to stay updated about the major developments in the world of telecom.
