On the line of DO-The-New, TATA DOCOMO, India’s youngest and fastest growing GSM mobile service operator will sponsor the short films screening at the Kalaghoda festival 2010 to encourage the upcoming talent in association with SHAMIANA which is the India’s fastest growing short film club. The club is passionate about showcasing the finest short films from the country and across the world.
The screening of short films in the Kalaghoda festival is pursuant to the TATA DOCOMO’ Mini-Movie Contest that was announced in November 2009. The winner of this contest will get an opportunity to work as the assistant director in Kunal Deshmukh’s (the young Bollywood director) next venture. The categories were The Best Short Film,The Best Movie Shot with a mobile phone, and The Director’s Favourite.
The screenings will include Shoonyata, a Red Carpet film at the New York film festival this year and Yeh Jahan, a film by upcoming director Amit Khanna that will premiere at this year’s festival. In keeping with the Buddynet theme of TATA DOCOMO, films made by a group of friends will also be part of the screenings.
