Tata Docomo Launches Track Me Location Tracking Services

Follow Us

Tata Docomo has just introduced "Track Me" service for its subscribers which send a message to the chosen recipient about your location by making use of the network coverage towers of the operator. It has been introduced in two guises:

track-me

  • Track Me – Location SMS every 15 min. for 2 Hrs @ Rs.5/- per event
  • Track Me Day – Location SMS every 30 min. for 8 Hrs @ Rs.10/- per event

Here's how it works:

Track Me: It works wonders for individuals who are running late, driving and so on and are low on battery. If the phone gets switched off, the families tend to get worried. So it saves your battery by not using GPS and sends an automatic message after every 15 minutes to the chosen recipient(s) for a maximum of 9 times.

Track Me Day: It works wonders for managers/professionals who have a staff to take care of which has to do research and field work. It helps keep a check on complacency of the staff as it lets the manager know if the field workers have actually done the research as it helps the managers know their location. It sends an update every 30 minutes about the location for 8 hours.

We really like the service and the corporates can actually benefit a lot from it. Families can be made aware of the location of their loved ones and their tensions can be taken care off too.
