  • 8GB internal memory which can be expanded via a microSD card by another 32GB
  • 1GB RAM
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • Play Life interface which gets Gesture Play, Draw-to-unlock, Pop-i Player which lets you multitask while watching videos, Music café and Ultimate Saver which helps improve battery life. You get Heat-Sink functionality too which reduces the temperature of the device courtesy of controlled heat dissipation.

Panasonic is offering a slew of freebies with the device which total up to worth Rs 10,390 and will go on sale starting next week. Panasonic would have nailed it completely with a 720p screen but the slew of software functionalities and freebies make up for that. It will surely prove to be a worthy competitor in the sub Rs 15,000 budget quad core arena.

Panasonic P51 is a good smartphone which I am using. I purchased it presuming it to be Japanese manufactured. Later on I found on the the net that it is a rebranded smartphone manufactured by Alcatel model ‘OneTouch HD’ made in China. Feel very cheated by Panasonic. Now they have launched P31, God knows who is the original manufacturer!!!!

@ranjith *I dont find anything wrong in that, even local companies like Micromax,Karbonn,Lava Xolo etc all are re-branders and none of them have their own factories or R and D labs to produce or make smartphones. *Most of the local companies buy products from China, rebrand them and sell it as their own. *Panasonics stratergy makes sense from an economical point of view too. *See setting up a manufacturing firm, investing in R and D etc, paying workers, enigneers requires a hell lot of money. *The smartphone market is already ultra-competitive and Panasonic cannot risk setting up a factory,R and D lab and make smartphones… Read more »

@vsk *Ok,fine lava does have a R&D center but do you really find them making any significant or heavy investments on R&D *If they really made investments on R&D then why are most of their smartphones re-branded.If they really made investments on R&D they could have their own designs, features, technology and have the smartphone as such manufactured by a third-party manufacturer like Foxconn. *Even companies like Apple do not have their own factories but atleast they make the smartphone on their own and have it manufactured by third-party manufacturers like Foxconn. *I really cant blame local manufacturers for not investing in… Read more »

Thanks Rama agree with you …local brands have some r&d may be true ..but quality wise its good for what we actually pay for it …common people don’t consider the facts which you pointed out there . ..I saw some people they don’t even no what is mega pixel ..and the market is so wide …may premium consumer can afford apple or HTC (high end models ) .. Do check iris pro 30 , canvas 4, xolo q1100 etc ..which were sell under 15k ..but this kind of models seems to be of well built and good quality when… Read more »

Rating – 3.5/5 *I tried searching on the net but no where is there a mention of the CPU being used in the device. *If a mediatek processor is being used its good because low-cost mediatek processors pack in more power than a qualcomm CPU at the same price tag . *Considering the camera and battery the device is a good buy at 11.5 k if it comes with a mediatek chipset *The heat sink feature would be good if it really works but one thing the author forgot to metion is that the device comes with ultra oleophobic coating… Read more »
