Nokia Lumia 525 Launched: Brings the much needed upgrade

Nokia, the Finnish mobile phone giant is well known and appreciated across the world for creating handsets that carry exceptional technology, eye-pleasing designs and brilliant features. This year, Nokia launched some of its finest and best smartphones and it has actually been an year it would like to remember.


News is that the company has now launched its latest smartphone Nokia Lumia 525 in the market. This device is a successor to the Nokia’s best selling Lumia 520 smartphone which has been instrumental in bringing the Windows Phone 8 experience to the masses.

Let us have a quick review of some of the key specifications and chief features of this device:

Display: The Nokia Lumia 525 sports a WVGA IPS LCD super sensitive touch display of 4 inches that provides a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. This is the same unit as its predecessor and is amongs the slew of things that have not changed.

Processor: This smartphone has been powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core processor clocked at 1 Giga Hertz and even this one is the same one as its predecessor. There were rumours about a 1.2 GHZ unit but Nokia decided on 1 GHz.

Operating System: Lumia 525 will work on Windows Phone 8 platform with the Lumia Black update so you’ll get some additional features that the Lumia 520 missed out on.

Camera: This device features a rear camera of 5 mega pixels with two stage capture key and auto focus features. The camera is a good performer for a budget device and is way better than its competitors.

Memory: The Nokia Lumia 525 features a RAM of 1 GB and internal storage capacity of 8 GB. Everything apart, the RAM is the biggest upgrade from the 512 MB unit it was and this makes the device 100 per cent compatible with every application on the marketplace.  It also offers expandable storage of up to 64 GB with the help of a micro SD card slot. It will also provide 7 GB of Cloud space via SkyDrive.

Connectivity Features: The connectivity features offered by this smartphone are 3G,  Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and micro USB 2.0.

Other Features: It features a 3.5 mm audio jack and has been pre loaded with some very useful applications. The Lumia 525 will be available in white, yellow, black and orange color variants.

Battery: This device runs on a battery of 1430 mAh capacity which is the same as the Lumia 520 as well.

Our Take: Nokia Lumia 525 comes with some really nice features and offers a wide array of services and applications. Being a budget smartphone, this device will prove to be a fine and worthy choice for the first time smartphone buying consumers. Expect a price of around Rs 10,000 for it and Nokia will surely look to increase the Windows Phone 8 popularity with this.

Best deal ..1gb ram and dual core processor …but no front camera and flash for rear camera ,because 10k is a budget segment so ordinary people who doesn’t aware about technical things but gave more preference to camera and flash …Samsung also launches s duos 2 ..I think it may give a tough competition to 525 …

Definition of Value for money is something which varies from person to person well maybe for you it may be the features and specs of a phone which determine its value whereas for me if more apps are provided on an OS like WP8 at 10k its definitely a good deal.From the hardware front you are right its not a real upgrade but from the software front its definitely something worth it.
