Huami Amazfit Watch 2 and Watch 2S Smartwatches With Water Resistance and Ceramic Bezel Officially Launched

Xiaomi’s exclusive provider of wearable technology, Huami has announced two new smartwatches, namely, the Huami Amazfit Watch 2 and Amazfit Watch 2S. Both the smartwatches are announced in China earlier today, and they are successors to first generation Xiaomi Huami Amazfit Smartwatch. The Amazfit Sports Watch 2 & Watch 2S are aimed explicitly at sportspersons as they come with 11 different types of sports modes.

Huami Amazfit Watch 2 and Watch 2S Specifications and Features

Huami has done an excellent job in designing both the smartwatches, and they look a lot different when compared to the first generation Amazfit Smartwatch. Specifications wise, they remain the same for the most part. They both feature a 1.34-inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 300 pixels.

The company has added a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage in both the smartwatches. The display on both the smartwatches is powered by a 2.5D tempered glass on top, and the bezels are hand-polished ceramic ones.

They both are water resistant and can allow users to dive into 50 metres underwater. Furthermore, they come with 11 different types of sports modes such as swimming, walking, running, indoor riding, outdoor riding, cross-country running, mountaineering, elliptical machines, etc. The swimming mode is further divided into two modes- a standard swimming pool mode and an open water mode, which is also known as river mode.

Talking about other features, these both smartwatches from Huami are GPS-enabled and are claimed to offer up to 35 hours of battery life with continuous GPS tracking. And yes, they both feature a heart rate sensor for monitoring your heartbeat.

The best part is users can control all the Xiaomi smart devices right from the smartwatches itself. Another new addition to these smart watches is it support Alipay offline payment feature, meaning you can pay at any merchant store using the new Amazfit smartwatches. All the other basic stuff such as reading messages, controlling music, etc. can be done through these smartwatches itself.

HuamiAmazfit Watch 2 and Watch 2S Prices

Both the Amazfit Watch 2 and Watch 2S will be available in China itself, at least for now. They both might make into other markets very soon. Huami announced that they would showcase both the smartwatches at the CES 2018, and at the same time, they might make them global.

As far as pricing is concerned, the Amazfit Sports Smartwatch 2 costs 999 Yuan (approx. Rs 9,700), and the Amazfit Sports Smartwatch 2S ships for a little higher 1499 Yuan (approx. Rs 14,600). Both the smartwatches will be up for sale in major Chinese e-commerce ports such as on January 9, which is pretty far from now.

Yes they should launch these products in India. There is a dearth of options for smart watches into the Indian markets. Moreover Xiaomi products are of good quality and value for money. They should definitely think of launching these products in India.
