It seems like the company is prepping to launch its flagship smartphone dubbed the Nokia 9 shortly as more and more leaks are popping up on the internet. Needless to say, the HMD Global will put in all the efforts to compete against the likes of flagships from Samsung and Apple.

And, judging by the recent leaks, the Nokia 9 seems to be a tough contender as far as this year’s flagships are concerned. The smartphone is rumoured to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with a massive 6GB of RAM.

It is expected to feature an almost bezel-less display which will likely be the case with all the flagship phones this year including the Apple iPhone. Most of the front will be dominated by a 5.5-inch OLED display with 2k resolution.

While a few rumours suggest that the Nokia 9 will get a fingerprint scanner on the back, the recent image renders reveal that the company won’t be providing one. Instead, it is speculated to use the iris scanner for unlocking the smartphone from rest.

When it comes to storage, the smartphone will reportedly come in 64GB and 128GB variants. It is expected to feature a 22MP Carl Zeiss optics for imaging on the rear camera while at the front will be an 8MP sensor for all the selfie enthusiasts.

Also, akin to most of the flagships these days, the Nokia 9 is rumoured to come with the IP68 certification. This means the smartphone will be water and dust resistant to a certain extent.

It is believed to run Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box. A few other rumours, though, indicate that the smartphone will ship with Android O. There will be a 3,800mAh battery to back the entire package, as per the rumours.

The Nokia 9 is expected to launch in the third quarter of this year carrying a price tag of Rs. 44,999 in India.

If the above rumours turn out to be true, the smartphone will indeed be a tough competitor. What do you think about the Nokia 9? Will you get yourself one? Let us know your valuable thoughts in the comments section below.
