Aircel Is Now Offering Free Night Data Between 3 AM to 5 AM for Data Active Prepaid Users

Aircel has come up with a new offer called as ‘Good Nights’ to counter the new entrant, Reliance Jio’s unlimited night data offer. The telco will offer free night data from 3 AM to 5 AM under the Good Nights plan. However, as usual, there is more to it than what meets the eye.

Firstly, it’s not unlimited. Yes, Aircel is limiting the data to just 500MB per day, and that’s way too small amount of data to deal with. And, the speeds will be throttled after the FUP. Secondly, this offer is only for the Aircel prepaid customers. Thirdly, this offer is applicable only for users who are on a data recharge pack.

The best part of the scheme is that if a customer already has a data pack recharged on his number, they will be automatically eligible for the said offer without any additional charges. However, limiting mobile data to just 500MB is a bit of a letdown.

Nevertheless, Aircel has not mentioned the speeds after the daily usage of 500MB, but we’re assuming it will be decreased to 128 Kbps, same as Jio.

Aircel has come up with this plan primarily to counter Jio. The latter, with the ‘Jio Welcome Offer,’ started providing unlimited data between 2 AM to 5 AM every day and is still continuing to do so with the ‘Jio Happy New Year Offer.’

However, the Jio unlimited night data will end on April 15 as the service becomes paid after offering free services for six long months.

Similar to all the other operators in the country, Aircel is also concentrating heavily on the mobile data space. The company recently announced one-year long data pack of Rs. 999 offering 36GB data, which dubs to 3GB data per day. Besides, Aircel has also launched hourly data pack in some regions, which gives unlimited data for one complete hour.
