In the circle where majority people are pure voice customers, Vodafone dominates the market share with 17 million subscribers, thanks to their superior 2G network. While few weeks back, Airtel too crossed 15 million mark in the region. But, the latest network expansion from Aircel helped them to improve their overall network experience and coverage. Also, their 3G data network now covers most of the towns and the cheap voice and data rates helped them to attract youth and low cost customers.

Also, once RCom-Aircel completes the merger of their business, it will be in good position to offer superior 4G and 3G services, that too at low cost utilising 10 Mhz of spectrum in 2100 MHz and Jio's vast 4G coverage which covers more than 75% of the total population in the Bengal circle.
