Indian broadband services provider ACT Fibernet has launched its Smart Wi-Fi service, powered by artificial intelligence (AI). In partnership with Aprecomm, ACT Fibernet has upgraded the router OS to ACT Zippy on customers' routers. ACT Zippy is a proprietary router OS designed to enhance in-home Wi-Fi service across all devices and applications. According to a TOI report, ACT Zippy, now installed on all routers, transforms traditional Wi-Fi connectivity into a smart and intelligent service.

ACT Zippy OS Enhancing Home Wi-Fi
Using AI, ACT Zippy continuously scans and monitors in-home Wi-Fi, detecting potential interferences and enhancing the Wi-Fi experience in real-time through channel switching, band steering, and other advanced features, the report added.
"ACT SmartWiFI powered by AI aims to provide the best Wi-fi experience, on all your devices, for all your applications, in any part of your house, 24x7," ACT Fibernet said in a post on LinkedIn.
"In line with ACT Fibernet’s brand promise of 'Feel the Advantage', we are now launching a unique and industry-first, AI-powered Wi-Fi which scans your unique home environment and automatically improves wi-fi experience for all connected devices," the report quoted Ravi Karthik, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at ACT Fibernet, as saying.
"With the number of devices connected to a home wi-fi, increasing significantly, providing a superior wi-fi experience is our key focus area. Under ACT SmartWi-fi we have planned a series of products and innovations in the home Wi-fi space that will address this issue and significantly enhance the in-home wi-fi experience," Karthik added, according to the report.
Smart Wi-Fi Upgrade to ACT Customers
Starting January 10, all customers onboarded in select cities will be on the ACT SmartWi-Fi platform. Existing ACT customers eligible for the Smart Wi-Fi update will receive the upgrade automatically in phases. These upgrades are provided at no additional cost to all eligible customers, the report said.
