The Rs 397 plan might already be known to you if you are someone who wants validity with his/her prepaid plan. Compared to what customers get with the private telcos, this plan is great in terms of value and cost if they merely want their secondary SIM to be active. BSNL Rs 397 Old vs New Benefits

As mentioned, BSNL's Rs 397 plan is not old, but its benefits have been revised. In essence, the plan has been made costlier for the customers. The Rs 397 plan comes with 150 calendar days of validity. Earlier, this plan used to come with 180 days of service validity. Not just that, customers used to get 2GB daily data, unlimited voice calling, and 100 SMS/day for 60 days. The customers will get all the benefits now as well, but only for 30 days.

Note that this plan is meant for validity seekers. Thus, while its validity is 150 days, the initial benefits offered with the plan will expire in just 30 days. The plan is still a great option for users who want to keep their BSNL SIM as a secondary option. It will help them in keeping their secondary SIM active at a very low cost.

If you choose a plan from the private telecom operators, the cost will be much higher. The good thing is that you can recharge with voice calling plans on top of this plan whenever you need it. You will most likely have to recharge with this plan twice or thrice every year (depending on the month you choose to recharge with) to keep the SIM active.
