Following the launch Mobile Number Portability (MNP) Dedicated web page by Vodafone, Tata Docomo, Airtel, IDEA Cellular; finally India's first 3G Mobile Service operator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), today flagged Off its MNP dedicated Web page for Mumbai circle.
However the PSU MTNL didn't reveled its MNP offer yet, But our exclusive sources said that MTNL can offer Free Connection/FRC with low cost tariff, Free Mobile Internet with 3G Speed and some free VAS to all "Port-In" customers who Switch to MTNL from any other service providers in Mumbai circle.
The much awaited Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service schedule to launch by 20 January on Pan-India basis as earlier we hare on TelecomTalk. According to the MTNL Mumbai, the MNP Port-in charges of Rs. 19 shall be waived off and Free 3G Ready SIM card will be provided for all “Port In” subscribers who Switch to MTNL. The Free FRC and other MNP Offer will be announced with in few days.
As MTNL Mumbai is preparing grounds by launching a dedicated MNP web page giving information about MNP and offerings and also assure its customers to get Next generation 3G Mobile Services with Voice - Video Callings and 3G Broadband experience with most Economical Tariff over its NGN wireless technology.
The company said that with MTNL one can get Truly toll-free Customer Care, Billing Transparency and Anywhere-Anytime Recharge facility.
MTNL Mumbai MNP Process :
1. Port-in customer will take UPC by sending SMS PORT followed by 10 Digit Mobile Number to 1900.
2. After sending SMS to 1900, User will receive UPC (Unique Porting Code) as a SMS from 1901 giving 8 digit alpha-numeric Unique Porting Code (UPC) and UPC expiry date in MM/DD/YYYY format
3. Port-in customer need to submit CAF (application form) and MNP form with UPC Along with Address & Identity proof documents, self-attested photo at nearest MTNL CSC.
4. After that you will get a New MTNL SIM, please retain it. You will get a message regarding actual time of port in, in your existing mobile number, after that you can use your new SIM and MTNL 's next generation Mobile and Data service.
