Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Vodafone Idea, Reliance Jio, and Bharti Airtel are the four telecom operators in India at the moment. All the operators offer similar kinds of prepaid plans but have different strategies for acquiring customers. But there’s one thing that all of the operators can benefit from, and that is by focusing on the 84 days and 365 days plans. We ran a poll to check how many people would prefer a prepaid plan with the following validities - 28 days, 56 days, 84 days, and 300+ days. To no surprise, most of the people voted that they would go for the 84 days or the 300+ days plans.

84 Days and 300+ Days Plans Can Be Focused On By BSNL, Vi, Jio, and Airtel

Clearly, not many are interested in the 56 days offerings, while 28 days plans also didn’t get much love from the people. But users see value in 84 days and 300+ days validity plans. This is understandable since long-term plans tend to come at a slightly discounted rate and offer more benefits generally.

All of the telecom operators, including BSNL, Vi, Jio, and Airtel, offer users plans that come with such validities. But is there more room for the operators to grow in the area? For sure, and especially with the coming age of 5G, where new plans would be introduced, the telcos can bring some strong 84 days and 300+ days validity plans for the users.

Right now, Reliance Jio and BSNL offer some of the cheapest long-term and medium-term prepaid plans in India. However, BSNL’s plans aren’t backed by a 4G network which gives Jio an edge over its competitors.
