JioPhone Next, What Jio Needs to Do Right?

The JioPhone Next will give the users an option to get a 4G smartphone who don’t have the money to upgrade even to an entry-level 4G smartphone that costs around Rs 6,000. Software optimisation on a sub Rs 4,000 (expected) smartphone can be a game changer.

JioPhone Next

The JioPhone Next is going to launch in a matter of few weeks. It is highly anticipated in India just like every other Reliance Jio product. Many are confident that it would help Jio in further adding new subscribers very rapidly. If Jio launches special tariffs for the JioPhone Next just like there are plans for the JioPhone, it could create a huge impact on the company and the industry. Vodafone Idea (Vi) subscribers trying to switch to other networks will finally have an option of a cheap 4G smartphone and not an outdated technology feature phone. It will offer Jio a chance to expand its user base aggressively. But there are a few things that the company needs to get right in order for the smartphone to succeed.

JioPhone Next Features and Software Will Matter a Lot

Software optimisation on a sub Rs 4,000 (expected) smartphone can be a game-changer. It would shake the entry-level smartphone industry and further push other companies to come out with devices in the same range with better specs and software optimisation.

But in case Jio fails to do this, it wouldn’t look good on the company’s promises and further won’t really have an impact on its subscriber base. Many users can also use this smartphone as a secondary device just for hotspots or making voice calls.

The specifications of the smartphone won’t matter too much. No one would expect the camera to be too good, the phone to be silky smooth. Only if it can perform decently and allow users to make voice and video calls along with strong support for apps such as WhatsApp and more, it will be fine.

One of the things that is already confirmed about the device is that it will run on Android 11 Go Edition out of the box. As per the online reports, JioPhone Next might be priced at Rs 3,499 which is not bad. Note that the price mentioned here is just a leak and the company hasn’t confirmed it, so the actual price of the smartphone will only be known once it is launched.

The JioPhone Next will give the users an option to get a 4G smartphone who don’t have the money to upgrade even to an entry-level 4G smartphone that costs around Rs 6,000. Hopefully, the JioPhone Next is what users expect it to and it pushes people to upgrade to 4G networks so that India can get rid of 2G and 3G networks as fast as possible and move on to being a 4G and 5G only nation.
