Asus Zenfone 6 Officially Revealed to Come With Snapdragon 855 SoC and 5000mAh Battery

Asus will be launching its flagship phone a few days after the launch of the much awaited OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro smartphones. The phones will be launched in Valencia, Spain on May 16. This new series of phones which will consist of the Asus Zenfone 6Z and the Asus Zenfone 6 and they will take the previous line-up of phones forward. Previously, the Asus Zenfone 5Z was the flagship device from Asus, but this title will now be replaced. Now, we have already seen a handful of leaks about the Asus Zenfone 6, but to the delight of the fans who are awaiting this launch, we have come across an official announcement about this phone which reveals the chipset of the device.




Asus Zenfone 6 will Surely Come with Snapdragon 855

Asus has confirmed that the Zenfone 6 will pack the Snapdragon 855 under the hood. This news comes from the company’s official Twitter account which posted an image revealing the specification about the chipset of the Zenfone 6. The image also revealed that the phone would have a notification LED, a 3.5mm headphone jack next to the USB-C port. On the right edge, users will be able to find a smart key along with the volume rockers, whereas the left edge of the phone will be reserved for the triple slots for dual SIM and a dedicated microSD card slot.

Not only this, but an Asus executive also used Morse Code to convey some details about the Asus Zenfone 6 on Instagram. On conversion of this Morse Code, we found that the message hinted dual camera (48MP + 13MP) along with 5,000mAh battery. It is worth noting that these two specifications point towards a significant upgrade as compared to the Asus Zenfone 5Z.

Asus Zenfone 6 Also Likely to Come with Slider Mechanism

Now about the other details of the phone, we already know from a teaser which Asus has posted on its Twitter handle that the phone will come with a notch-less, bezel-less display and according to AnTuTu, this screen will have a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. It is worth noting that since Asus has resorted to a full-screen display, there have been speculations regarding where the manufacturer will house the front camera. Initially, there were rumours about a pop-up selfie camera, but some recent rumours have pointed out that the Zenfone might pack a slider mechanism to house the selfie camera.

Similarly, there have been some hints about 18W fast charging on this device. Some other pointers about the Zenfone 6 include the presence of Android 9 Pie on this phone from the get-go. In its teaser, the Taiwanese manufacturer has also revealed the tagline of the upcoming phone which is “Defy Ordinary”.
