WhatsApp for Android May Get Dark Mode Very Soon, Feature Spotted in Latest Beta Version

WhatsApp brings new features almost every other day to its Android and iOS applications. It is long rumoured that WhatsApp is working on Dark Mode feature. Now, some concrete information regarding the WhatsApp Dark Mode has been revealed by the latest leak. WhatsApp Dark Mode has been now spotted in the latest Android Beta update. The Facebook-owned messaging platform is yet to reveal official details about the Dark Mode. WhatsApp for Android has been updated to the beta app version 2.19.82. The new update reveals details about the Dark Mode. The teardown of the app reveals that WhatsApp Dark Mode is in the development stage and may come to the users very soon. Now that the Dark Mode is tipped to come to all Android users soon, the feature may also hit the iOS users and also the Windows users.




Dark Mode for WhatsApp in Works

A lot is already talked about the WhatsApp Dark Mode feature in the past. With the coming of Dark Mode on WhatsApp, users will be able to change the background of the app to black. This feature will work similar to the YouTube and Twitter Dark Mode. WhatsApp Dark Mode is mainly aimed at making it easy for the users to chat with friends and family inside a dark room. The users can disable or enable the Dark Mode feature as per their requirement.

According to the latest media report coming from WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp Dark Mode is under development and is yet to be available to users. The WABetaInfo found the existence of the Dark Mode in the latest Android 2.19.82 beta update version and has also released a screenshot. The report notes that the users will be able to enable and disable the Dark Mode by heading to the Settings menu. Additionally, the report notes that “Dark Mode on Android won't be OLED friendly, but it's based on very dark grey colour." The report also suggests that the WhatsApp Dark Mode will be available everywhere be it in the notifications settings, data and storage settings, chats settings, and also in account settings.

Forwarding Info and Frequently Forwarded Features Coming Soon

In addition, WhatsApp for Android version 2.19.80 shows two more features that WhatsApp is working to bring to the users very soon. These features include -- Forwarding Info and Frequently Forwarded. To recollect both these Forward features were spotted on iOS beta version. With the Forwarding Info, the users will get more details about a forwarded message, like they will get to know the number of times the message has been forwarded. The Frequently Forwarded, on the other hand, will basically work as a label. It will show if a message has forwarded more than four times.
