Meizu C9 Entry-Level Smartphone With Stock Android Oreo Launching Tomorrow as Amazon Exclusive

Chinese smartphone brand, Meizu is all set to re-enter the Indian market tomorrow with three smartphones- the Meizu 16th, Meizu M6T and the entry-level Meizu C9. This budget smartphone from Meizu will take on the Xiaomi Redmi 6A and Realme C1. Notably, it’s an online-only smartphone which can be exclusively purchased via Amazon in the sub-continent. The Meizu 16th is a flagship smartphone which the brand introduced as Meizu 16 in China this August. The Meizu M6T is a mid-range smartphone which was unveiled as Meizu 6T in China. We don’t have any details regarding the Meizu C9 smartphone, but Amazon has created a landing page which reveals the key specifications of the handset including stock Android, two colour options, 18:9 display, single rear camera and so on.

Meizu C9: Specifications and Features

Going by the listing, the Meizu C9 will be available in two colour options- Black and Gold, and both the variants can be picked up via Amazon. The phone will have a 5.45-inch 18:9 display on the front and the company will market it as a Full View screen. The display will have a pixel resolution of 295 PPI. The device lacks a fingerprint scanner because it’s aimed at the Redmi 6A. On the brighter side, the Meizu C9 will offer Face Unlock feature which will be based on software.

Software side of things, Meizu says the phone will boot stockish version of Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The Amazon India listing did not reveal any details regarding the Android 9 Pie update. As for the cameras, the Meizu C9 will have a single 13MP shooter on the rear side along with an 8MP front-facing camera. It will be interesting to see how the selfie camera works on this smartphone.
