Earlier this month, at the Samsung Developers Conference, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer announced its new One UI skin based on the latest Android 9 Pie alongside the long-time rumoured foldable phone, which will supposedly be called the Galaxy X. The name of the phone is yet to be confirmed by the company. At the conference, Samsung has confirmed that the company will soon release One UI to just its 2018 flagships including the Galaxy S9, the Galaxy S9+, and the Galaxy Note 9.

But now, a fresh report coming from Android Authority claims that the One UI update will also come to some of the older Samsung phones as well. Samsung is yet to reveals details regarding this report. Meanwhile, a report coming from AllAboutSamsung reveals that Samsung will begin rolling out the Open Beta update of One UI, based on Android 9 Pie November 15 onwards, but sadly, it will be limited to just the 2018 flagships.

One UI based on Android Pie Coming to Galaxy S8 series

The new report goes in contrary to the previous rumours which stated that only the Galaxy S9, S9+ and Note 9 are eligible to get upgraded to Samsung's own One UI. The new report claims otherwise and says that the S8 series of phones including the Galaxy S8, the Galaxy S8+, and the Galaxy Note 8 users will also get One UI based on Android 9 Pie soon.

A Germany based Samsung customer case support, as reported by AllAboutSamsung, has revealed that the open beta update of the One UI based on Android 9 Pie will release for eligible Samsung phones starting November 15, that’s on Thursday. Samsung, however, hasn’t revealed whether the Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 are among the eligible devices or not. The report further reveals that the Android Pie and One UI open beta will be first available in Germany, the US, and South Korea, followed by India, China, France, Spain, and the UK.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Phones are Also Eligible for the Update

As of now, Samsung has just confirmed that the One U1 based on Pie will just be rolled out the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ and Galaxy Note 9 series. Now that the open beta update will be rolling out to the eligible devices in another one day, it won’t be wrong to expect that stable build to head to these phones soon, possibly by the end of this month or by mid-December.
