Lately, Xiaomi has been on the tiptoes for launching the latest Android update for its smartphone. There was a time when companies were shying away from releasing quick Android updates for their devices, however, now Xiaomi seems to be living up to the people’s expectations by promising quick updates with the latest Android version. With that being said, Xiaomi has also now announced the models of the smartphones which will be receiving the Android Oreo and Android 9 Pie update in the Q4 this year. However, the thing that some users might not like is that only the latest models by Xiaomi will be getting the Android 9 Pie update.

Xiaomi Phones in line for Android Oreo Update
Although Xiaomi has phones which are still running on Android Nougat, there is also no lack of models in Xiaomi’s portfolio which are running Android Oreo. Xiaomi phones like Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 6, Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2, Mi Note 2, Note 3 all come with Android 8.0 or Android 8.1 Oreo. Additionally, there are also phones by Xiaomi which boot the beta version of the MIUI 10 software.
Among the devices which are still running on Android Nougat, we have Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, and the Redmi 5X. Xiaomi has announced that it would be pushing the Android Oreo update for these phones in the fourth quarter. However, it is likely that these phones would also receive a beta version update before the stable build, so it is possible that the users of these models will have to wait a few weeks before they get to experience Android Oreo in its full form. The expected date for the release of updates for these phones will most likely be pushed to December.
