Xiaomi Mi 8 SE Now Available in a New 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage Model

The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE can now be picked up in a new variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, although only in China at the moment. Until now, Xiaomi sold the device in two variants with 4GB/64GB storage and 6GB/64GB storage. Besides the storage bump to 128GB, the new variant of Mi 8 SE boasts similar specifications as the other two. For the unaware, the Mi 8 SE is the first smartphone to debut with the upper mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, which is the reason why Xiaomi did not launch the device in other markets. The Mi 8 SE was unveiled alongside the flagships Xiaomi Mi 8 and the Mi 8 Explorer Edition.

Xiaomi Mi 8 SE 128GB Specifications and Features
The Xiaomi MI 8 SE is an excellent mid-range smartphone, thanks to its specifications and affordable price tag. The Mi 8 SE sports glass back, measures 7.5mm in thickness and weighs 164 grams. Xiaomi has added a 5.88-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ display on the front, which carries a resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels. Internally, the Mi 8 SE has the Snapdragon 710 chipset, paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage.

The Mi 8 SE is also a beast when it comes to camera specifications. Xiaomi has added a primary 12MP sensor on the rear which has a f/1.9 aperture, EIS, PDAF and so on. The primary sensor is paired with a 5MP secondary depth sensor. Xiaomi’s camera app comes loaded with a slew of AI features. Up front, the Mi 8 SE packs a 20MP shooter. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording 4K videos.

To keep the device thin, Xiaomi has gone with a smaller 3120mAh battery. The phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Chakri is a go-to guy for your next smartphone recommendation. Back in his engineering days, he used to play with smartphones by installing custom ROMs and that passion got him into the tech industry. He still goes nuts about a smartphone knocking his door for review. Currently managing everything at Telecom Talk, Chakri is trying to master PUBG Mobile in his free time.
