Razer has launched its latest phone, the Razer Phone 2 with top end specifications and premium grade features. This phone by Razer is an attempt to draw the attention of mobile gamers, and it is safe to say that with its latest offering the brand seems to be doing it well. The Razer phone is also going to be available for pre-order right away in the United States. The Razer Phone 2 features some major upgrades over its predecessor, so without further ado, let’s dive right in and see what the Razer Phone 2 has got in store to offer.

Razer Phone 2: Specifications and Features

The Razer Phone 2 debuts with a 5.7-inch screen which comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution with IGZO display. Under the hood, the phone sports the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, which comes accompanied by 8GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a “vapour-chamber” cooling system which is going to control the temperature of the phone during long gaming sessions and will prevent the hardware from damage. The cooling system will spread the heat away from the source thus dissipating it.

The Razer Phone 2 packs a 4000mAh unit, and it comes with Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 4+ technology. The phone also comes with Wireless Charging support and Razer has also launched a wireless charging dock for this device which comes with Chroma LED lighting effect with an illuminated Razer logo.

For camera and imaging, the Razer Phone 2 flaunts a 12MP sensor which is a wide angle one and comes equipped with Optical Image Stabilisation. This primary sensor is paired with a 12MP telephoto lens, and both the cameras are Sony IMX sensors. The front camera on this device supports 60fps video recording in 1080p resolution meaning that the front camera will be able to shoot high-quality videos. Further, the camera will also ship many modes to the users like Panorama, bokeh and beauty mode. Additionally, the Razer Phone 2 will come with better low light imaging.

Speaking of software on this device, we get to see the Razer Cortex to the Razer Phone 2. The Razer Cortex is one of company’s most popular offering which helps users access a curated list of popular mobile games. This will further allow the users to utilise the Game Booster software which would assist in launching games and optimisation. Also, the front speakers on this new phone remain the same as the ones in the predecessor. However, the individual amp on both of them makes them louder. Additionally, the Razer phone 2 comes with an IP67 rating which makes the device water resistant.

Razer Phone 2: Pricing, Variants and Availability

The Razer Phone 2 comes in two variants of Mirror or Satin. Razer will be first releasing the Mirror version of the phone which comes with 64GB of storage. On the other hand, the Satin version of the Razer 2 which will come with 128GB of storage will be available on a later date. The Mirror version will be available for pre-order starting today in the US The price of this new phone has been set at $799, and the shipping would also begin soon.

Razer Phone 2: Competitors

The primary competitor to the Razer Phone is the Asus ROG smartphone, which will also be launching in the US on October 18. However, Asus revealed the prices of the ROG phone and it starts at $899. The Razer Phone 2 will have decent competition from the ROG phone as both sports the high-end Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM and more.
