Premium Design and Display

Unlike its predecessor, the Honor 7X which used to come with an all-metal body, the Honor 8X comes with an all-glass design which lends it an exquisite and premium feel. The phone also comes in the Sapphire Blue colour variant which particularly stands out from the rest. The handset also stands a class apart by sporting a massive 6.5-inch LCD IPS panel which renders an HD+ resolution of 2340×1080 on a 19:5:9 aspect ratio screen.

Processor

The Honor 8X packs the in-house manufactured HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset clocking a speed of 2.2 GHz paired with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 for graphics. When it comes to performance, the Honor 8X will pack a lot of power given its SoC configuration, and for someone who wants to play games or watch YouTube videos, the Honor 8X will prove to be a good device through and through. The phone will also come with GPU Turbo Technology which will boost the performance of games as and when required. The setup will be paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM which will ensure smooth multitasking and gaming.

Camera

Imaging is another area where the Honor 8X will shine given its decent camera performance which will come paired with AI features. On the rear side, the Honor 8X will flaunt a 20MP primary camera with a f/1.8 aperture along with a 2MP depth sensor for Bokeh shots. The rear camera setup will come equipped with PDAF and an LED flash. For selfies, on the front, the Honor 8X will come with a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The camera will also support AI features like intelligent scene detection, portrait mode and Face Unlock. Other biometric methods would include the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Battery and Software

The Honor 8X will pack a 3750mAh battery which is a 10% upgrade as compared to the last phone in the series. The phone will also support fast charging. On the software front, the Honor 8X will boot Android 8.1 Oreo with the Huawei EMUI 8.2 skin on top of it.

Storage

The Honor 8X will offer plenty of choices when it comes to RAM and storage variants. The entry-level model of Honor 8X will come in a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage configuration. Next up, the phone will also be available in a 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model. Further, a higher-end model will pack 128GB storage with 6GB of RAM. Apart from the internal storage, users will have the option of using a microSD card to expand the storage on their Honor 8X device.

The Honor 8X will be launched on October 16th in an event which is supposed to be held in Delhi. Expectedly, the phone will be available for launch towards the end of this month. Regarding pricing, the speculations say that the Honor 8X will bear a price tag in the proximity of Rs 15,000 for its entry-level variant. Whereas the higher end model of the Honor 8X will likely be priced around Rs 17,000.
