HMD Global has stopped taking new registrations for the Nokia 7 Plus Android 9 Pie Beta programme. Furthermore, the Finnish upstart has sent out emails for the users who participated in the beta or developer preview programme, thanking them and at the same time, reaffirming that stable release of Android 9 Pie is around the corner. In the email sent out to customers, HMD said, “Many thanks for being part of very first Nokia phones Android 9 Pie developer preview program. With your valuable feedback, the release will soon be ready and available to millions of users.” To recall, the Nokia 7 Plus was promised to receive Android 9 Pie update in early September, but that didn’t happen. At the moment, users who’re already on the Android 9 Pie Developer Preview will only be able to roll back to Android 8.1 Oreo on their Nokia 7 Plus.

Android 9 Pie Stable Release for Nokia 7 Plus is Around the Corner
While HMD has delayed the update by a couple of weeks, it must be coming in September, nonetheless. Until now, only the Google Pixel devices and Essential Phone has received stable Android 9 Pie updates, and if HMD manages to push it in September, Nokia 7 Plus across the world will be thrilled. The company is yet to reveal a date for the stable release, but the email suggests it’s around the corner.
The Nokia 7 Plus is one amongst the seven smartphones which received Android 9 Pie Beta update. The seven smartphones are from manufacturers Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo, Oppo, Essential and HMD Global. Even OnePlus hasn’t rolled out Android 9 Pie stable update to its OnePlus 6, but the Chinese company has recently rolled out OxygenOS Open Beta update to the OnePlus 6 based on Android 9 Pie.
