Honor Play 7 With 24MP Selfie Camera and 18:9 Display Unveiled

Earlier this week, Huawei’ sister brand Honor launched its flagship Honor 10 in global markets. The Chinese firm has now come up with their entry-level smartphone, the Honor Play 7 in China. Just like the other Honor releases this year, the new Honor Play 7 goes with the trendy Full View Display on the front. The Honor Play 7 is priced at Yuan 599 and the device is available in Blue, Black and Gold colour options. The smartphone is currently available in China via VMall. So far there is no information about pricing and availability in India, but the company has confirmed to launch the Honor 7A and Honor 7C in India next week, exclusively via Flipkart.

Honor Play 7 Specs & Features
Sporting a polycarbonate body, the Honor Play 7 features an ultra-thin profile and bezel-less frontal display. The rear has a single camera configuration with a sensor and LED flash placed horizontally on the top left corner. The iconic “honor” branding is seen in the middle of the rear panel, but there is no fingerprint sensor or facial recognition technology on the smartphone.

The Honor Play 7 sports a 5.45-inch IPS LCD FullView display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. On the top, there is also 2.5D curved glass protection. Under the hood, the handset is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor.

The MediaTek processor is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of data, which can even be expanded to 256GB via microSD card. In terms of camera, the Honor Play 7 has a primary 13MP CMOS sensor with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, autofocus, 4X digital zoom. There is also a 24MP front camera with LED flash for selfies.

The connectivity options on the Honor Play 7 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2 with LE, GLONASS, GPS, micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are several onboard sensors which are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. Backed by a 3020mAh non-removable battery, Honor Play 7 runs the latest Android 8.1 out of the box.
