Intex UDAY Smartphone With 4G VoLTE Support and Fingerprint Scanner Launched at Rs 7,999

Homegrown smartphone brand, Intex has launched a new smartphone in the Indian market today, dubbed as Intex UDAY. The smartphone's name isn't that great to hear, but the company has a reason to go with that device. For this smartphone, Intex has established an exclusive partnership with leading retail chains of Pune- Kensha Mobiles, Mehta Telecom, Manik Mobile Shopee & The Corner Mobile. The smartphone will be exclusively available across 26 retail outlets in Pune starting today. The device is priced at Rs 7,999 and offers features such as fingerprint scanner, 4G VoLTE, 5.2-inch HD display etc. It's also eligible for the Reliance JioFootball cashback offer.

Talking about the retail chain partnership, the list includes Kensha Mobiles, Mehta Telecom, Manik Mobile & Corner Mobile in Pune, which are said to be catering to five million customers through its 26+ stores across the city. The Intex UDAY will be exclusively available at 26 stores spread across Pune. "This will enable Intex to strengthen its presence in key regional markets by offering a smartphone exclusively for the region," said the company in the media release.




As stated, the Intex UDAY smartphone also comes with Reliance JioFootball cashback offer, under which the telco will be providing Rs 2,200 worth cashback on the first recharge of Rs 198 or Rs 299 plan. The cashback vouchers can be recharged on subsequent recharges with any of the recharge packs by Jio. The telecom operator will be providing the eligible Intex device users with 44 cashback vouchers worth Rs 50 each, which will be credited to the MyJio App and can be redeemed later.

Moving onto the specifications of the Intex UDAY smartphone, it rocks a 5.2-inch HD IPS display and measures 9mm in thickness. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek chipset, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card. A fingerprint scanner is also present on the device, which can also be used for clicking photos and answering phone calls by double tapping on it.

The UDAY smartphone comes with a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash support, along with a 5MP selfie shooter which also has LED flash support. This smartphone boots Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and comes with multiple navigation features, emergency rescue features.

Connectivity options in the device include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and a micro USB port. The device is fuelled by a 2800mAh battery.

The smartphones also include Intex key pre-loaded software feature services for the users. One such service is the DataBack which is your Data Saving service. This app provides up to 500MB free data back to the users per month for free and allows users to consume more to earn data back in their accounts. The device will be up for sale in three colour options- Black, Champagne and Blue.
