HMD Global is planning to launch their 2018 Nokia lineup in India tomorrow, i.e. April 4 in New Delhi. The company is expected to bring the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and flagship Nokia 8 Sirocco to the country, which were announced earlier at the Mobile World Congress. On the sidelines of this news, there's another news popped online about the Nokia 9- HMD's 2018 flagship device. Earlier reports and rumours had hinted Nokia 9 might launch later this year, but HMD Global is yet to confirm the launch timeline. Ahead of the launch, a datasheet showing the detailed specs of the smartphone along with an alleged render was spotted online. The main highlight of the Nokia 9 is the Zeiss branded triple rear cameras, much like what was seen on the just-launched Huawei P20 Pro.
The listing suggests the Nokia 9 will be equipped with a 41MP primary wide-angle camera with Xenon + LED flash, previously seen on the Nokia 808 PureView. In addition, there’s a 20MP secondary telephoto lens and a 9.7MP monochrome camera with ZEISS optics. The primary camera comes with 4x optical zoom support. Up front, the device will feature a 21MP sensor with a f/1.8 aperture for selfies.
The specs sheet also has a picture of the alleged Nokia 9 which shows the rear panel with camera placement. The triple cameras are seen vertically aligned and with the sensors stacked one after the other. The Nokia branding is also highlighted in the protruding camera module.
As for other hardware specs, the Nokia 9 will feature a 6.01-inch QHD+ AMOLED display panel with 18:9 aspect ratio. Inside, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor will power the device paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The leaked specs sheet reveals a 3900mAh battery with Qualcomm’s quick charge and Qi wireless charge support. Other interesting features as per the listing is the in-glass fingerprint scanner and IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The Nokia 9 also tipped to run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Sounds too good to be true? Of course, there is no telling whether these leaked details are true. We will have to wait and see when HMD Global finally plans to release the Nokia 9.
