Homegrown smartphone brand, Micromax today launched a new entry-level 4G VoLTE supported smartphone in India. Dubbed as the Micromax Bharat 5 Plus, this device will be up for sale in the coming days, but for now, Micromax listed the device along with its complete specifications on its official website. The highlight of the smartphone is the beefy 5000mAh battery. Pricing and availability details of the Bharat 5 Plus are unknown at the moment.

As the name of the smartphone itself suggests, it's an upgraded version of the Micromax Bharat 5 smartphone, which was launched in India last month. With a 5000mAh battery inside, the smartphone is said to offer 21 days of standby time, which on paper is better than the 10-day standby time of the Xiaomi Redmi 5A.

Also, the Bharat 5 Plus has OTG support, and you can even charge other devices, making the Bharat 5 Plus a power bank. Rest of the specifications of Bharat 5 Plus are similar to the Micromax Bharat 5, minus few changes.

The smartphone flaunts a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Under the hood, the device has a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek chipset, which is coupled with 1GB of RAM. Internal storage in the Bharat 5 Plus is 16GB, which can also be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.

This Bharat 5 Plus rocks an 8MP rear camera, a minor upgrade over the 5MP sensor seen on the Bharat 5. To the front, we have a 5MP shooter which helps to capture selfies and video calls. The camera application also offers bokeh and time-lapse modes. This smartphone boots Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.

Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and a micro USB port. As stated, pricing and availability info is unknown at the moment. With Bharat 5 retailing for Rs 5,555 in offline stores, expect the Bharat 5 Plus to be priced around the same price or even the same price of Rs 5,555 is heavily expected.
