HMD Global is now rumoured to launch the Nokia 6 (2018) in China this week. A retailer in China named Suning leaked a teaser image of the Nokia 6 (2018), and the image shows the numerical ‘3’ designed with older Nokia phones and the text in the image says ‘New Nokia 6,’ hinting at the possible launch of the new Nokia 6 model. Going the text in teaser image-‘ 3 days left to the launch event,’ it’s nearly confirmed that the launch will happen on January 5.

It has been a year since HMD Global launched its first Nokia smartphone- the Nokia 6 in the second week of 2017. There’s no surprise that the company is planning for a successor of its first smartphone on its first smartphone release anniversary. The new Nokia 6 is confirmed to be touted as Nokia 6 (2018) by Chinese certification site TENAA.
As of now, two models of the Nokia 6 (2018) were certified by TENAA, but the latest certification of the TA-1054 model seems to be a legit one. As per the recent TENAA listing, the Nokia 6 (2018) will be powered by an octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2.2GHz and another four cores clocked at 1.9GHz. The processor could either be Snapdragon 660 or Snapdragon 630. Hopefully, HMD goes with the former as it’s slightly powerful than the latter.
Other specifications of the Nokia 6 (2018) include a 5.5-inch Full HD display with the usual 16:9 aspect ratio. The earlier listing of the Nokia 6 (2018) revealed 18:9 aspect ratio screen on the smartphone, but it seems to be highly unlikely as HMD Global will be releasing a bigger version of the Nokia 7, dubbed as Nokia 7 Plus in coming days which may sport an 18:9 display.
