Announcing the same, he also stated the company's record over the years since its foray into the Indian market in 2014. In Q3 2014, the company shipped more than 1,00,000 smartphones; In Q3 2015, it shipped more than one million smartphones; In Q3 2016, it shipped more than 3 million smartphones. That said, in Q3 2017, the company has shattered all the previous records.

Thanks to some stellar value for money products released by Xiaomi this year, it has registered this growth. As per Counterpoint research firm, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, the Xiaomi Redmi 4, and the Xiaomi Redmi 4A are top three selling smartphones in Q3 2017. Even after 10 months since its release, the Redmi Note 4 is still the best budget smartphone you can get right now, and with Xiaomi rolling out MIUI 9 to the phone, the device will continue to sell like hotcakes till its successor comes out.

Besides this news, there's another one to cheer about for Xiaomi fans. The company, earlier today announced a permanent price cut to the India's best selling smartphone, the Redmi Note 4. Xiaomi has slashed the price of the Redmi Note 4 by Rs. 1,000. The Redmi Note 4 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant will be available for Rs. 11,999, down from the earlier Rs. 12,999, whereas the 3GB/32GB storage model, will be available at Rs. 9,999, down from the earlier Rs. 10,999 price tag.

Despite enjoying success in the country, Xiaomi is trying new things in the Indian market. For example, it has launched an all-new selfie-centric series in India, going against the likes of Oppo and Vivo. Earlier this month, the company announced two new smartphones- the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite. The Redmi Y1 is possibly the best selfie smartphone under Rs. 10,000. For the Redmi Y series, the company has endorsed new brand ambassador, Katrina Kaif, and that too for the first time since its entry to the market.

Well, the company might even try out new things going forward, but at the same time, it is promising to continue following its motto of offering premium smartphones at affordable rates. Xiaomi might unveil the Redmi Note 5 in India in January 2018, which could be the company's next smartphone in the country.
