Xiaomi is preparing to launch yet another smartphone in the Indian market on November 2. The Chinese company has been aggressive in the country in recent times. It launched the Mi A1 and Mi Mix 2 in the last two months, and now teasing a new smartphone under an 'All New Smartphone Series', like the Mi A1.
Currently, there's no info available on which smartphone Xiaomi will be launching on November 2, but as per the official teasing, it will be the first selfie-centric Xiaomi smartphone with the company's MIUI 9 Global ROM on board. As you can see in the teaser image, the thunder logo is the same one of MIUI 9, which gives us a hint that the company will launch first MIUI 9 device with Global ROM in India.
Furthermore, Xiaomi is holding its first MIUI conference on November 7 in New Delhi. Xiaomi is considering to roll out faster software updates to the Indian consumers, considering the importance of software in a smartphone.
Secondly, Xiaomi India Director, Manu Kumar Jain has confirmed that the upcoming Xiaomi device will be a selfie-centric one. Finally, Xiaomi is entering the selfie-bandwagon and looking to go against the likes of Oppo and Vivo. Xiaomi always focused on delivering value for money products in India, and it will be interesting to see how this selfie-centric approach will work out for the company.
Unlike the Mi A1 launch, which Xiaomi touted as global launch, the company is touting as 'All New Smartphone Series'. Essentially, Xiaomi has launched almost all its smartphone series in India as its homeland. The one which left out if the Mi Note series.
Over the last two years, Xiaomi's Mi Note series catered to flagship segment, but this year, the company has launched the Mi Note 3 as an upper mid-range device and it's also a stripped down version of the flagship phone Xiaomi Mi 6.
In addition, at the launch event of Mi Note 3 in China, Xiaomi highlighted the Artificial Intelligence powered selfie technology used in the Mi Note 3. So, the smartphone could be the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 itself, and yeah, it's a 'New Smartphone Series' for Indian consumers.
The Mi Note 3 has a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, similar design as the Mi 6, Snapdragon 660 SoC, 4GB/6GB of RAM, same flagship cameras as the Mi 6, and runs MIUI 9 out of the box. There’s a 16MP front-facing camera backed by an AI Beautify feature. Also, the phone has AI-based facial recognition to unlock your smartphone.
