Chinese brand, Xiaomi today announced a special variant of the Redmi Note 4 in India. Dubbed as the Redmi Note 4 Lake Blue edition, the smartphone will only be available with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The new edition commemorates the company’s latest project of ‘Wake the lake’ campaign. As a part of the initiative, part of the proceeds from the sale of each device will go towards supporting initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Besides the new colour, the rest of the specifications are similar to the already existing Redmi Note 4. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is currently the highest selling smartphone in India at the moment. The Note 4 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 2.5D curved glass on top.
It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The onboard storage is expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB. The Redmi Note 4 has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The device recently received the Android Nougat update based on MIUI 8 and is backed by a 4100mAh battery.
As said earlier, the Redmi Note 4 is currently India’s highest shipped smartphone and Xiaomi sold more than 5 million units in less than 6 months. As per IDC Q2 2017 smartphone tracker report, the Redmi Note 4 is India’s highest shipped smartphone in a quarter in the history of the Indian smartphone industry.
