Yu Televentures, Micromax's child company is now rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for its Yu Yureka Black smartphone. The Yureka Black was launched in June 2017 at an impressive price of Rs. 8,999. However, the only let down with the phone was it came with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on board.
Right after the launch, the company faced a lot of heat from the consumers because of powering the device with a two-year-old operating system. However, the company immediately announced a beta version of Android Nougat build for the Yureka Black. And now, Yu is rolling out the stable build of the OS for all the Yureka Black users.
Yu Televentures also confirmed that the update is an incremental one and it will reach your device in coming days. Also, we suggest you to manually check for the update as well by heading over to Settings>About Phone>System Updates.
Since the smartphone running Android Marshmallow, the Android 7.0 Nougat will be a major one, which also brings several new features. All the stock Android Nougat features such as multi-window mode, quick reply, quick app switcher, advanced doze mode, etc will make into the Yureka Black.
The Yureka Black offers decent specifications for the asking price of Rs. 8,999. At the price, the device goes against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4, Nokia 3, etc. The Yureka Black is a completely revamped version of the Yureka, which was released two years ago, and sports entry-level specifications. The device flaunts a 5-inch Full HD display with a 2.5D curved glass and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology.
Under-the-hood, the phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC with a 1.4GHz octa-core CPU, paired with massive 4GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. The Yureka Black is the cheapest smartphone to offer 4GB of RAM at Rs. 8,999. The device has 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB using microSD card.
Another highlight feature in the phone is the rear camera. The Yureka Black has a 13MP Sony IMR258 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and five element lens. Further, there’s an 8MP front-facing camera, which doesn’t come with support for LED flash.
The device weighs 142 grams. It’s incredible how Micromax achieved to keep the weight that little even though packing a metal body. The entire package is backed by a 3000mAh battery, which is the only drawback in the phone. It also has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button, which is rated to unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds.
