LG had a good 2017 so far with its flagship phone LG G6 selling in good number, and recently the brand also released the LG Q6, the entry-level smartphone featuring Full Vision Display same as the G6. Today, LG confirmed that it would be launching its next flagship phone, the LG V30 at an event during the IFA 2017 conference in Berlin on August 31.
Earlier today, LG has sent out a media invite indicating the launch of a smartphone on August 31. The invite just says 'save the date,' however, the letter 'V' is highlighted in the display of the smartphone. Also, the invite itself has rounded corners and a resolution of 2880x1440 pixels, which means that it will be using the same Full Vision Display technology as the LG G6.
LG is not at all worried about the specifications leak of the V30. At the Google I/O 2017 event, the search giant has confirmed that the V30 would be Daydream ready and will be released later this year. In recent times, several rumours have pointed out at the possible IFA 2017, and that's going to happen. Previously, LG used to announce the V series smartphone right after the IFA 2017 event on September 5 or September 6.
While nothing is known about the smartphone officially at the moment, speculations are rife about the specifications of the device. LG, for the first time, going to use an OLED display to power its smartphone. For years now, LG has been a pioneer in the display technology, and the V30 will presumably be its first smartphone to equip an OLED panel.
A 360-degree CAD video has surfaced online recently, which revealed the dual camera setup at the back and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well. The device will measure 151.4 x 75.2 x 7.4mm and will sport a massive 6-inch QHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9. Yes, the LG V30 will have a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
Lastly, the LG V30 will be fuelled with the Snapdragon 835 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone could likely feature some AR capabilities. The price is said to be reasonably cheap, unlike what we've seen with LG in recent times.
