Case Maker Olixar Allegedly Reveals the Design of the Upcoming Apple iPhone 8

While it is known that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 has been the crux of various rumours and leaks in the past few days, one source apparently decided to jump the gun and give us a preview of this highly coveted smartphone’s design. After a slew of older leaks, the latest design expose comes from Olixar, which happens to be a phone accessory manufacturer.

Way before Apple could even release an official word on the device, Olixar has begun manufacturing screen protectors and phone cases for the upcoming iPhone 8. This online phone accessory retailer even went out on a limb and made the device phone cases available for pre-order in the US and UK, months before the iPhone release.

The leaked photos of the cases give us a pretty good perspective of the dimensions and design of the device. It appears that although the overall shape is familiar as the current iPhones, the iPhone 8 will be thicker than all of the recent Apple smartphones. The company has made it a point in the past to continue to make its iPhones thinner each year. If this report is any true, then Apple has obviously decided to break the trend. It can be somewhat justified given some of the rumours that the iPhone’s aluminium housing is expected to be replaced with a stainless steel midframe and a glass back.

Olixar’s case design suggests that the iPhone 8 will have a vertical dual-camera setup instead of its customary horizontal one and there is a slight cutout for the front-facing camera on the top with bare-minimum bezels on the sides.

So far the iPhone 8 rumours have been flowing every week from various sources, and the hype is real for iPhone lovers. According to these rumours, the upcoming iPhone 8 is believed to ditch the LCD display and the home button in favour of an OLED screen with an embedded Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

The online retailer released an entire line of protective cases with different colour options for the upcoming iPhone. Olixar supposedly created them based on “information and schematics they’ve acquired through their factories and contacts in the far east.”
