Nokia is yet to ship its Android-powered Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3 in India and various other markets, but rumours are already rife that the Finnish company owned by HMD Global is working on upcoming Nokia phones. Nokia is looking to make its mark in every segment possible. For now, the company has budget smartphones. Next up from the brand will be mid-range, upper mid-range, and flagship phones.

The Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 may be the mid-range and upper mid-range smartphones, while the Nokia 9 might be the company's first flagship phone. In recent times, the schematic drawings of the Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 were spotted online. The Nokia 9 was also leaked recently in a company's official video with the dual rear camera.

Later on, a French site Frandroid allegedly claimed that they have used the Nokia 9 for nearly 10 minutes and has posted what they have spotted in the phone in such as short time. HMD has wrapped the device with a non-removable case to hide the design of the phone. But the key components such as the fingerprint scanner, volume and power button placements are pictured in the report.

As rumoured, the Nokia 9 will come with dual cameras on the back, but the report says that the camera performance is mediocre. The fingerprint scanner is present below the display, embedded into the home key, same as other Nokia phones released this date. Also, the home key is not clickable. The home button is flanked by the back and recent apps keys. The Nokia 9 will feature the iconic 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to the hardware side, the report also has a CPU-Z image posted displaying the key specifications of the phone. The Nokia 9 will feature a 5.27-inch QHD screen, carrying a pixel density of 557 PPI. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset working in tandem with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The Nokia 9, in line with other Nokia phones, will run the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat with no customisation on top whatsoever. The device will support Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3, but the report did not reveal the battery capacity of the phone.

Just after this leak came out, the Nokia 9 with name HMD Global TA-1004 paid a visit to Geekbench. The device scored an insane single-core score of 2236 and a multi-core score of 7553. The Nokia 9 has received the highest Geekbench scores on any smartphone till date.

Having said that, the prototype unit of the device is already ready, which means that HMD has finalised the design of the handset, and the launch is imminent. Another report claimed that other Nokia handsets would be released by the end of Q2 2017 and will start shipping in Q3 2017, which is completely likely from now. The device may be priced at Rs. 44,999 in India.
