India's leading telecom operator, Bharti Airtel has come up with a slew of new offers countering Reliance Jio's Dhan Dhana Dhan scheme. The company is now providing unlimited data and calls at just Rs. 399 and the best part is the validity period of 70 days. Clearly, Airtel is looking to go head-on-head with the new entrant Reliance Jio.
Under the new Rs. 399 offer, Airtel is providing unlimited calls to any operator along with 1GB of data per day for 70 days. However, users will get the 1GB data per day only if they own a 4G handset and a 4G Airtel SIM card. For users who don't have a 4G handset, this offer is not valid.
Airtel is also giving one more offer of Rs. 244 under which the company is providing unlimited data for 70 days and unlimited Airtel to Airtel calls. Same as the Rs. 399 plan, users will get the data only if they own a 4G handset and a 4G Airtel SIM card.
Another offer to counter Jio's Rs. 509 plan is the Rs. 648 plan as it offers unlimited calls to any network across India and 2GB data per day for three months. These offers are for existing prepaid customers of Airtel. Nevertheless, this offer, for now, is valid for only segmented users of Airtel. The plans will be up for recharge to eligible customers from tomorrow.
Besides this, Airtel is going to announce two more first recharge (FRC) plans for new Airtel customers. There's a new FRC 449 plan that offers unlimited calls and 1GB data per day for 70 days. There's another FRC 293 plan which offers daily 1GB data and unlimited on-net calling for 70 days. Some of our readers also reported that they have received an SMS from Airtel offering the same FRC 449 perks at Rs. 399 for them.
When we tried for these offers in MyAirtel app, we got the Rs. 399 offer, but not before checking with ten different Airtel prepaid numbers. And yes, these offers are valid only for the Airtel prepaid consumers and there's no luck for Airtel postpaid users, though.
Airtel is yet again taking on Reliance Jio. The Rs. 399 plan from Airtel is way better than the Jio's offer of Rs, 309 because Airtel offers consistent data speeds and there won't be any call drop issues as well. That said, Airtel is yet to make an official announcement about these offers.
For now, you can check your eligibility for any of this offer by heading over to the MyAirtel, and one offer will be present under the 'best offers for you' section. Are you eligible for any of the above-mentioned plan? Let us know in the comments section below.
