Late yesterday, Reliance Jio announced the extension of JioPrime membership deadline and a new Jio Summer Surprise Plan. At the same time, Mukesh Ambani stated that a total of over 72 million users have opted for JioPrime plan.

It is already a known fact that Jio is now allowing to recharge via other online recharge portals such as Paytm, Freecharge, PhonePe, etc. Moments after Jio's announcement, the founder and chief executive of Paytm, Vijay Shekar Sharma on his Twitter handle revealed that the Jio recharges have surpassed all other Indian telecom operators postpaid recharge value on their platform.

Vijay Shekar posted as follows: "Jio growth in last few weeks is superlative. Stand alone @reliancejio recharges value has crossed, all operator's postpaid on Paytm," and that's a unique feat. Paytm is running cashback and discount offers exclusively for Jio users and that's another reason for the overwhelming response.

Reliance Jio is expecting more than 100 million subscriptions to the JioPrime membership plan before the new deadline date of April 15. For customers whoever subscribes to JioPrime and makes their first paid recharge before April 15 will get additional three months of free 4G services under the new 'Jio Summer Special' offer.

This Jio Summer Special offer will shake the telecom operators yet again in the country as Jio is offering complete free 4G services at just Rs. 402 for four months. It's interesting to see how incumbent operators will react to this new offer from Jio.
